Matt Spink Awarded Service Manager of the YearPlatinum Energy Group’s Matt Spink was recognized as Service Manager of the Year at the National Association of Oil & Energy Service Professionals’ 59th Annual Convention and Trade Show in Providence, RI on Tuesday, May 22nd. Spink was selected by the members of the association in recognition of his quality work and commitment to education.
In addition to his work teaching at Suffolk Community College, Spink is also co-chair of OESP’s education committee and founder of the Professional Service Managers Academy, designed to train present and future service managers in the art of service management.
“I’ve always been passionate about education,” says Matt. “This is a challenging industry that’s always evolving. If we don’t teach future technicians the necessary skills, they’re not going to be able to properly repair these systems. I’ve been doing this for 15 years. It’s given me a good living, so I’m proud to invest my time in the future of the industry.”
Today's service manager requires more than technical expertise. As Platinum Energy Group’s National Service Manager, all service work is coordinated and supervised by Spink.
“I believe the award should be ‘Service Leader of the Year,” says Stuart Schwartz, CEO of Platinum Energy Group. “Matt has lead by creating a model and an example to follow. We all know how fortunate we are to have Matt with us. It was refreshing to see that he is praised by his peers as well. It’s a testament to our organization that we have professionals like Matt Spink, recognized authorities in their field, working for us.”
